SALESPAD EMPLOYEES PUMP OUT BLOOD DONATIONS TO SAVE LIVES

As the American Red Cross announces emergency blood shortage, SalesPad employees step up to give the gift of life

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Blood supplies are low in the United States according to the American Red Cross, and SalesPad, a Grand Rapids-based Operational ERP software company, is doing its part to donate blood to those who need it most. So far this year, SalesPad employees have collectively donated 44 units of blood, double red cells and plasma through approximately 111 donations.

“I enjoy seeing my fellow coworkers step up and take time to participate in our quarterly blood drives, making a positive change that reverberates throughout the community,” said Chris Callahan, SalesPad employee and SalesPad Advocacy Network (SPAN) team member. “Especially during a time when there is a shortage of donations, I’m proud to be part of a company that regularly provides a space and time to host these drives.”

Quarterly blood drives have been part of SalesPad’s community involvement through SPAN for almost three years. SalesPad, 3351 Claystone St., Suite #100, is hosting its next blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., which is open to the public.

“Every donation saves three lives and SalesPad has helped save over 500 lives in their short time of hosting blood drives,” said Kyle Graham, account representative of Michigan Blood. “We have to collect 560 pints a day so SalesPad’s blood drive is greatly appreciated and makes a true difference. It only takes four to five hours for a company to make such a big impact in their community and we are grateful for support from companies like SalesPad.”

“I participate in blood drives throughout the year because I know I’m helping save lives,” said Sarah Massirio, a project manager at SalesPad. “This is a great opportunity to give back and I am proud to work for a company that values supporting the overall health and wellbeing of our community.”

SPAN focuses on three areas of community involvement at SalesPad: Empowerment of children, inclusion of diversity in STEM education, and the health and wellbeing of employees. As a part of SalesPad’s commitment to community, employees support and participate in numerous local events like the 5/3 River Bank Run, MiCareerQuest, and SoftwareGR.
