The Future of Dynamics GP

At Cavallo, we are incredibly proud of our heritage that humbly began in a warehouse of a distributor running Microsoft Dynamics GP. By 2022, thousands of users have trusted us to enhance Dynamics GP for them to dramatically improve their business performance every day.

Over the last couple of years, there has been a tremendous and growing amount of “noise” about the future of GP. At worst, some bad actors are using fear tactics and misinformation to scare end customers into making decisions to move off GP in a timeframe that is not in their best interests.

In reality, tens of thousands of customers are running their businesses effectively with Dynamics GP and don’t have a compelling business reason to change. Changing out one’s ERP system should be driven by a compelling business case — not by an outside third party.

So what is Microsoft’s official position about the future of Dynamics GP?

At the end of the day, that’s what matters most. All the noise in the world can’t drown out Microsoft’s actual stated position. Here are two reference documents that provide Microsoft’s official position. You can see quite clearly in these documents that Microsoft is committed to GP.

We at Cavallo, along with a long list of alliance partners in the Dynamics GP space, also remain firmly committed to both existing and new GP users. I believe we have the best technology in the world at supercharging GP and will continue to proudly serve the community for many years to come, including with new innovation and expanded functionality.

Lastly, it’s noteworthy to mention that we have solutions that serve customers running Dynamics GP or Dynamics 365 Business Central. I point that out to say that we’re not biased toward GP because that’s all we have. Our position is quite simple: If you are on GP and want to stay, great, we’re happy to serve you there. If you have decided it’s best for you to migrate to Business Central, great, we’re happy to serve you there too. Do what’s best for you and we’ll meet you there!
